DIY Floral Pumpkin Planter
When it comes to decorating our house for Fall, I tend to stay away from the traditional orange, yellow and red tones. Everything in our house is bright and cheery, so I try to keep our holiday decor bright too. That's why I decided to make these adorable DIY Floral Pumpkin Planters. They combine everything I love — pink flowers, eucalyptus, and mini white pumpkins.
Inspiration strikes at the strangest moments. I decided to try to make these planters, solely because I couldn't decide between mini pumpkins or an extra bunch of flowers at the grocery store. My solution? Get both and make a planter. But, i'm SO glad that I did, because I absolutely love how they turned out. And, I think they would be just perfect for a Thanksgiving tablescape.
What You'll Need:
3 mini pumpkins
2 types of flowers (I used mini carnations and roses)
1 bunch of eucalyptus
Sharp Knife
How to Make DIY Pumpkin Planters
Step One: Clean off your pumpkins using water and soap. Then, clip your flowers at an angle so that there's about half an inch of stem remaining. Trim off a chunk of eucalyptus and set aside.
Step Two: Carefully tie the eucalyptus around the stem of the pumpkin.
Step Three: Using a knife, cut a small hole into the top of the pumpkin. I made mine about the size of a pinky and about 3/4 an inch deep.
Step Four: Add 2-3 flowers to each hole and arrange with the eucalyptus.
That's it! Aren't these just the cutest pumpkins? I have a feeling i'll be making some bigger ones the closer we get to Thanksgiving.
XO,
K
